Overview
This course introduces UG medical students to the structure, challenges, and reform strategies of health systems, with a strong focus on the Indian context. Learners explore how health systems function, why gaps persist in delivering equitable and quality care, and how policy reforms, digital innovations, and governance mechanisms can strengthen service delivery.
The course also provides a practical foundation in Implementation Science, enabling learners to understand how evidence-based interventions can be effectively adopted, implemented, and sustained in real-world settings. Through case studies, interactive exercises, and real-world program examples, participants develop skills to identify system bottlenecks, apply implementation research frameworks, and translate evidence into actionable improvements in healthcare delivery.
By the end of the course, learners will be equipped to critically assess health system performance, apply implementation research methods, and contribute to strengthening healthcare programs and policies at local, state, and national levels.
